Plain English summary: We collect only what we need to run Pawztagram. We never sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties. You own your content. You can delete your account and all data at any time.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: Username, email address, password (stored encrypted), full name, bio, pet type, profile photo
- Content: Photos, videos, captions, comments, messages you post or send
- Communications: Messages sent through Direct Messages or to our support team
- Payments: If you subscribe or make payments, billing details are processed by our payment partner (Razorpay/Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent
- Device data: Device type, operating system, screen resolution
- Location: Approximate location (city level) derived from IP, or precise location if you grant permission for features like Lost Pet Alert or nearby services
- Cookies: Session cookies to keep you logged in. See Section 4 for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To display your posts and content to your followers
- To send notifications about likes, comments, follows, and messages
- To run the AI Pet-Gate™ — our automated pet-content verification system
- To process payments for subscriptions or bookings
- To broadcast Lost Pet Alerts to users near the reported location
- To improve and develop Pawztagram's features
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data to train third-party AI models or sell advertising profiles.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With your consent: When you choose to make your profile or posts public
- Service providers: Hosting (GoDaddy), payment processing (Razorpay/Stripe), email delivery — all bound by confidentiality agreements
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users
- Business transfer: If Andretta Technologies is acquired, your data may transfer to the new owner under the same privacy protections
Public posts, profiles, and comments are visible to other Pawztagram users and may appear in search results.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use the following cookies:
- PHPSESSID (essential): Keeps you logged in during your session. Required for the site to work.
- Analytics (optional): Anonymous usage analytics to understand how features are used. No personal data is shared.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings — this will log you out.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers in India managed by Andretta Technologies Pvt. Ltd. We implement:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Bcrypt password hashing — your real password is never stored
- Regular backups and security audits
- Access controls limiting who can view personal data
No system is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours via the email address on your account.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some anonymised usage data may be retained for analytics.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction: Update incorrect information via Settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Portability: Request an export of your posts and data
- Objection: Object to how we process your data
- Withdraw consent: Turn off optional data collection at any time

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Pawztagram is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
Users aged 13–17 may use Pawztagram only with parental consent. If you believe your child has created an account without consent, contact us at privacy@pawztagram.com.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Continued use of Pawztagram after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
